“Just tell it like it is.”
That’s my initial thought when conversing with people. Just be honest. Be real. But, sometimes, telling it like it is can get me into trouble. Words can hurt just as much as they can heal. James says that there is power in the tongue of men.
So I attempt to temper my words to be honest and real but not mean or cruel. I don’t pretend to know the words to say or not say in every situation. That’s usually when I start mumbling under breath or staring off into the distance, praying that Holy Spirit will take my place and speak the words that are needed. Because His words are the ones that matter most. Mine can only mess things up.
